To undertake a diversity initiative, an understanding of your community’s demographics is essential, both to ensure your outreach is inclusive and to establish a baseline for your efforts. But demographics – and the ways in which Americans choose to identify themselves – are shifting rapidly, and multiple dimensions of diversity need to be considered.
